History of Nissan Vehicles

In 1928 Japan, the Nissan name began when its founder Yoshisuke Aikawa become president of Nihon Sangyo, where he primarily dealt with foundries and auto parts. By 1922 Nihon Sangyo was featured at the Tokyo Stock Exchange by the name Nissan, and from there the name expanded beyond Japan to the United States in 1958 as Datsun. The first Datsun was showcased by Nissan in 1959 at the Los Angeles Auto Show where it became known for its unique style. The Datsun would eventually become the first mass-produced Japanese vehicle around the world. To keep up with global demand, Nissan started production in Mexico in 1966 which led to production in other countries like Australia, Taiwan, and finally America in 1983. Nissan received its first environmental award from the EPA in 1991 for its Alternative Fuel Vehicle, and from there Nissan never looked back. Today, Nissan has produced the all-electric LEAF, GT-R, and popular Nissan truck, the Titan.
