Sights in McKinney

A total of 120 acres was donated to the townsite that would become McKinney in 1839. Agriculture was the primary source of income for families with corn, cotton, and flour being the main products. Later, an ice company, textile mill, and dairy came to the area. McKinney continued to grow in population in the early 1900s with another spurt of growth in the 1980s. However, the rate of growth increased dramatically by 2000. Today, this diverse community is home to a variety of attractions to entertain and educate residents and visitors.
